None of them seem to get the message.
If you don't live in Albuquerque NM, it's hard to explain the mountain of problems on the most iconic highway in the U.S. It runs through the middle of Albuquerque for 18 miles. Yes! Eighteen miles.!
Route 66, what should be a gold mine of opportunity for business in Albuquerque is nothing more than a highway of homeless, drug users, prositution and crime. The number of businesses that have given up and closed are too many to count. Some parts of the highway named central avenue still have some busiesses that continue to try and make it.
The city and state seem to have forgotten that these are family businesses who have invested, in some cases everything they have, to try and earn an income for themselves. Now owners of businesses who have tried to bring customers back with new updated properties, are giving up and selling, or trying to sell. But will they get back that investment in the selling price? They will probably be lucky to find anyone interested in wanting to try the impossible of doing a business on Central Avenue. Route 66.
What do the city managers and law enforcement do? I have no idea. It has looked the same for years. The homeless and drug users are so unafaid, they now sleep on the streets and dare anyone to enforce local laws.
Basically, business owners are fucked!
The perfect example of Albuquerque's and New Mexico's solution was displayed in an interview with Debra Haaland who tries to be a politician and wants to the Governor of New Mexico.
When asked what she has to say the business owners on Central Avenue who are losing their businesses because of the crime problem on Central, her response was,
"We have to try harder!" What the fuck is that? Try harder what?
This is what politicians do in New Mexico. They make lots of promises and never follow through on any of them. Deb Haaland is one of the least qualified candidates in the Democratic Party and she thinks because she is Native American it will be a pass to winning the race for Governor. Wrong. She has no plan, no idea what to do, just another out of work politician trying to land a job.
WE HAVE TO TRY HARDER!
We have to try harder by buying more street sweepers to go down Central Avenue and sweep up the human trash and take them to another borde, any border, and tell them to find another home. Albuquerque can't help you!
Think I am wrong? When is the last time you were on Central Avenue to support the businesses there? They don't have the same problems on Paseo Del Norte? Why?
Deb Haaland needs to get a job with the Red Cross.
That's the fact Jack!
Think about it and be sure to VOTE!
