Venice Beach. What can you say? Everyone has heard something about it, and to some degree, most of it is probably true. Venice Beach has it's own character. It's not a beach you go to for relaxation. It's a place you go to see. No trip to LA is complete unless you try it at least once. Maybe twice if you are the adventurous soul.
Myf first trip to Venice Beach, we actually stayed in a boutique hotel on the strand. What is it they say? In for a penny, in for a pound. There are many hotels and you can take your pick. The benefit is you can experience the day acivities and the night activities. For me, the night was sketchy, however it is safe, with security and police presence everywhere. One night was enough.
Yep. It's all there. Muscle Beach and roller skaters and bikes and shops and food. Street vendors and entertainers too. Yes I asked this vendor for advice and paid my dollar. His advice? If I am stopped by the police for anything, shove him and tell him to fuck off. Now that is some shitty advice!

Why do so many SoCal people go there? I'm sure I don't know. But it is iconic and hey the beach is nice. I have some special memories on Venice Beach.
What is venice Beach? Venice is actually a town and many celebrities have a place there. It is known for the canals that were built, very similar to Venice Italy, and where the more expensive homes are located. Is it a place to hang? As I said, a couple of days is probably good. To me, it is like going to France and not going to see the Eiffle Tower. Done and done.
Now you can move on to the cool places in SoCal.
Have fun.
