Stop It! Don't Blame Zuckerberg!

I have said it before. But I will say it again. I do not like Mark Zuckerberg. There is no particular reason. Some people you like some people you don't. It's just that he does not strike me as a likeable person. But, I can kind of understand why. He is probably suspicious of everyone. I would be.

But the latest flap and his appearance on capitol hill is just another example of envious people trying to tear someone down who has achieved success. And moreover, they are grubbing for financial gain, just like any shameless grifter. Wait that sounds familiar. But that is not the case in this example.

Someone is claiming Zuckerberg hooked them like a drug dealer would do, and turned them into media junkie. I don't know where to begin.

I am going to make this as quick as I can. If I was Mark Zuckerberg, I would take all my billions, buy the island of Cuba and dare anyone to step on my private beach as I closed down Facebook and gave everyone their miserable fucking lives back. That's what everyone wants? Right? Does anyone understand what Facebook is? It's a snooping, eavesdropping platform that allows everyone to be voyeurs legally.

But. No one wants to take any responsibility for their actions. The only thing Zuckerberg is doing is providing the rooms for people to be exhibitionists and voyeurs. Now you want him to be the supervisor, the director, the police, the landlord. What? What?

Parents, do you allow your kids to buy every candy bar at the checkout counter? The candy is there for a reason. It's called impulse purchases. You can say yes or you can say no. That is where responsible decisions are made. That is where your responsibility is as a fully grown-up person.

If you sit around all day and gorge on potato chips and chocolate ice cream and become a giant sofa spring crusher, are you going to blame Lays and Bryers? Get the fuck outta’ here!

Nobody wants to take any blame for their own circumstances. That is how we have ended up with and authoritarian government. We allowed them take the responsibility from us with promises that they would take care of everything and it would be better.

Facebook? If your life is all Facebook or META, then you are a very shallow person. If you need to live your life vicariously through another person, the problem is not Mark Zuckerberg. Everybody is selling something and their existence depends on someone to buy from them. Zuckerberg is selling exactly what you have asked for.

My advice to those who defend these people trying to throw shade on Zuckerberg is stay off of your phone and Facebook or META or TIKTOK or Instagram or Bluesky. Is it addictive? Probably. Just like eating and sex. But it is not illegal. Go get a life and allow everyone to have their fun if that is what they want.
