Pete Hegseth? Are we serious? I think not.

How is this possible? Half of the country is asking that question, and the other half is saying, what do you mean? He is the man, man. We now have a real man in charge of the military. Really? What does that mean? A Real man.

There is no question Hegseth has been and is living large. I will not spend time on what he really is, except to say he is the quintessential Republican. That means he is the poster boy for perfect to them. If you didn’t watch the confirmation hearings, then at least go to Wikipedia and educate yourself on what is another example of the people who are going to be in charge for the next four years.

With all of the confirmations that rolling through congress, it more apparent than it has ever been how political and partisan the process is now.  It always has been, that is to say all of the political appointments of past Presidents were partisan, but usually they had some background and experience in what they were going to be in charge of. Yes? Well. Maybe not.

But it didn’t seem so in your face as this. To be clear, it is not just Hegseth. This goes for all or most of the appointments. But Hegseth has a background that is so political and hardline to the point of almost hostile, he is scary to be in such a position that we think would require calm and deliberate control. I don’t see that with Hegseth. I see a seething angry and unbendable authoritarian who will not consider the collateral damage his decisions may have. He seems to say I am the man!

I have Hegseth at the NATO conference as he bounds from one participant to another with an energy, I can only compare to that battery bunny. Did it impress anyone? No. He looked like an arrogant showman rather a state leader. And his statement about Ukraine not getting back what the Russians have stolen, I believe, scared the bejesus out of the NATO leaders that were there.

To them, the United States cannot be depended on for anything. Kicking Ukraine under the bus means absolutely nothing to Trump or his crew. Buit it was a red flag for all of Europe.

Trumps rhetoric of taking over this area or that area, is just word salad that serves only as red herrings while he is trying to figure out what to do next. He has never had a plan and still doesn’t.

Hegseth will be nothing more than late night joke fodder for all of the European television stations. He is a caricature from his television days and a legend in his own mind. His cup runneth over with the same poison brew that powers all of Donald Trump’s androids.

There will be so much more to say on this guy. He is the gift that keeps on giving.
