Bernie Is The Real Deal!

Yes, Bernie has it right. He is and always has been ready to stand up for his beliefs. He seems to always be on the right side of history. Why is that? Maybe it’s because he is just a nice guy with a moral compass that points to right and not wrong.

He fights for and supports unpopular issues that are for the benefit of the underprivileged and everyone in middle America. I wasn’t there, but I can see Bernie in the middle of protests during the sixties. And he still has that energy today. Although he admits he is getting tired at 83 years old.

Bernie is performing an important task. He is out in the towns of America trying to educate us to a word that is uncommon to the ears of Americans. Oligarchy. And with that comes the words autocracy and authoritarian.

These are words that most people have heard and probably have some idea what they mean, because we hear of them in the news when they tell us about these types of governments in other countries. But we never think that can happen to the United States. Well, it can. All it takes is complacency and the fact that only a little more than half of eligible voters actually turn out to vote.

And those that do vote are inclined to believe wild promises from politicians who have refined the use of obfuscating phrases to confuse and escape the facts.

Bernie is right again. We have become a pseudo democracy. We have elections, but we have no real choices for whom to vote for. Sure, we elect someone, but did we pick them or were they chosen by a powerful group of people with their own interests at heart instead of ours.

As the choices become fewer and power and money buy influence with the media then you will see oligarchs making the choices for you, and you won’t even see it coming. And when the judges and courts have no authority, that is autocracy and authoritarian rule.

Bernie knows exactly what he is talking about. I wish he was 30 years younger.
