Are any of Trump's government picks actually qualified?

Do any of Donald Trump's government picks actually have the right qualifications? This question has been a topic of considerable debate and scrutiny since the early days of Donald Trump's presidency. It's no secret that Presidents pick and choose friends and favorites for government positions. Many times it is a payback for loyalty and support.

However, when it comes to cabinet positions and high level positions of leadership, those posts are usually filled with people who have at least some background and experience in their field or with that level of management. Many times career employees of the government are moved up in their line of work..

With Donald Trump, that description of filling government positions goes out the window. For the most part, Trump has brought what he learned from his previous stint as the President. He knows that using the typical job filling template didn't work for him. He prefers a staff of sycophants that bend the knee at his demands and where he does not need to constantly look behind him for displays of loyalty.

Many individuals appointed to key positions within his administration came from diverse backgrounds, ranging from business executives to political outsiders, which raised concerns among critics about their qualifications for the roles they were assigned.

For instance, some of Trump's cabinet members had extensive experience in the private sector but lacked traditional governmental or political experience, leading to questions about their ability to navigate the complexities of federal agencies and public policy. The qualifications of these picks were often evaluated not just in terms of their professional experience but also their ideological alignment with Trump's agenda.

His supporters argued that having leaders who shared the president's vision was essential for implementing his policies effectively, while opponents contended that this approach can prioritize loyalty over expertise. Additionally, the vetting process for these appointments was often criticized for being rushed or lacking thoroughness, resulting in some nominees facing significant controversies concerns that ultimately led to their withdrawal or resignation.

The scrutiny over qualifications was particularly pronounced in high-profile positions, such as the Secretary of Education or the Secretary of Health and Human Services, where the appointees' backgrounds and previous statements were closely examined for their relevance and appropriateness. I'll have more on those two later, because they require articles of their own.

In summary, and on the surface, the qualifications of Trump's government picks have been a perfect script for a situation comedy, if it were not so serious. Actually it would make a better dramady. We are going to go into these choices more as we look at the continuing "Breaking News". If they keep breaking the news, there won't be any more news! And that would be a good thing!

Stay tuned, because the short answer is NO! Trumps picks are not qualified. But who is paying attention to that? He keeps you busy looking at other crazy things he does.

He is the master of three card monte.
