What an embarrassment. This guy is a CONVICTED FELON! 34 TIMES!
Everybody stand up, 'cmon everybody stand up, Let's give him a hand!
He would be a hero in a third world country. A strong-arm thug and all of his thugsters and his personal political police force. That sounds so familiar. He would be right at home in Mexico or one of the South American countries where the rule of law is commanded by how many jack-boots with masks and automatic weapons are on the streets.
It is hard to wrap my head around what is going on in our country today. I knew that watching the state of the union speech was not something I wanted to do. I was right. I did watch some of the excerpts and some of the analysis. Trump did not disappoint and I'm sure that all those he insulted were prepared. Where do get such men? A line delivered by Fredric March from the 1954 movie "The Bridges at Toko-Ri."
Ronald Reagan quoted it during several of his speeches including during a ceremony for a Medal of Honor recipient. It was an emotional quote and not worthy of Donald Trump. But, how else can you describe the misfortune of this guy being our President. This will be a seminal event in our future. History will not forget Donald Trump and I'm sure that is his intention.
Trump is now the record holder for the longest state of the union speech in history. What is the significance of that? It only means, as usual he is constantly going off message on the teleprompter and winging it with his diatribes. The personal insults and pointed remarks at his own supreme court choices only point to the concern about his mental judgement.
But the real concerning message sent in that speech were the reactions of his party followers. When he was soliciting applause during his shaming remarks, the Republican members all stood and applauded loudly. It was almost as if they were saluting Trump personally. For me, that was just plain creepy. There were many "Sieg Heil" moments in that speech that anyone who has read any history should be incensed from if not at least concerned. These were nothing more than pledges of allegiance to Trump and anyone should be concerned if they were being photographed or monitored.
Is there some concern behind the scenes in the Republican Party? If they are up for re-election in swing states, yes, they are concerned. You get a sense they are looking for the off ramp from the Trump turnpike to no where. He is looking more and more every day like a lame duck. That is why there should be real concern and I mean major concern for what he may be planning for the mid-term election.
Trump has been polishing his idea for nationalized elections and has plans for election police at the polling places. This is nothing more than what they used to do during the days of Tammany Hall in New York when political thugs intimidated and hijacked elections. Not only is he organizing his own personal police force of jack-booted thugs, but now he is looking to take control of what is left of our democratic processes.
He is making a leap from autocrat to demagogue. The next leap is where his ambitions lie. Dictator. Can he do it? That is up to us.
That's the fact Jack!
Think about it and be sure to VOTE!
