People were desperate after years of the depression. Franklin D. Roosevelt came in and stopped the fucking greed and gave people some hope that there was going to be a place to get their next meal other than the garbage pile. Yes, people were eating out of garbage piles.​

The roaring 20's roared out and left everyone broke from the drunken sailor spending sprees that went on from margin buying in the stock market that left no money when the sell offs finally came.​ No one remembers that, unless you are very old. But things were a total disaster in this country. You couldn't buy a job.

Herbert Hoover was the president then. Not that it matters whether he was a Republican or Democrat, but he was a Republican, of course, because FDR was a Democrat. While Herbert Hoover was content to leave everthing alone and allow the markets to take care of themselves, he had no plan. ​People were needing a leader. Someone to give them hope.

Things were truly a complete disaster.

FDR won by a landslide. I'm not going to go into what made FDR the man of the hour for the job that day. Every historian agrees. It seemed he was the man that providence chose. And the fact is he did have some experience in government. Yes, he was from a priviledged class, but he really did connect with the average man and did understand the suffering going on.

This is not a history lesson. Go learn it on your own. It's very awakening.

Everyone new that Hitler was on the horizon. He was using the world economic collapse and the jews as an excuse for everyone's dilema. ​Some things never change. There is always a person somewhere in the world who displays those characteristics. They are not normal qualities of character. They are aberrations.

However, tere will always be a Frankiln Roosevelt somewhere who has a plan. Bet on it.

They are out there. Someone, somewhere has the skills, the desire, the altruistic qualities of character that can make things better. The complicated part is the people who really want and need that person have to recognize him or her. More often than not, people fall for the slick person who is a future faker. It happens all the time. Future fakers know how to tap that need you think you have.

What FDR did was unusual. He did not divide the country with the blame game. He gathered everyone up and made them all part of the solution and the effort was going to involve everyone. Together.

No one needs to make America great again. That has already been done. It was done by a man Donald Fucking Trump couldn't carry water for. And it was maintained by the good men who followed.

What this divider-n-chief has done is drag us back 60 years. He has tapped into the old biases and racism that had been buried with education and appreciation and said all those accompishments were a waste of time. Greed and envy was the new game in town. The color gold was what mattered, not red white and blue.

Can we get past this miscreant and the wing nuts who support him? In the words of Donald "the loss for words" Trump, I don't know, maybe, could happen, we'll see, I think so, I hope so.
