Route 66, Central Avenue Albuquerque NM sucks and nobody cares!

Albuquerque has taken an historic landmark and thruway and destroyed it and many business owners in the process.

Read Jack Wilson's upcoming article on what happened or more accurately why did it happen?

Who's pockets were lined in the process while the taxpayers were fleeced.

Watch for Jack Wilson's podcast on the disaster on Central Avenue.

Two reasons why Mayor Tim Keller has to go.

One reason for what he has done and one reason for what he has not done.

1.  He has done absolutely nothing with the disaster on Central Avenue. Nothing! How do you take a major iconic highway like route 66 and turn it into one lane on each side so you can run buses from east to west that nobody rides and aside from that, there were buses there for years prior. Central Avenue was a road that people used with their cars when they went knob hill to shop. And they had parking and access to businesses. Yes the previous Mayor screwed it up in a big way. Now, even though the annual pay for Mayor in the states largest city is crap, Keller asked for this job and I still can't go to Central Avenue to shop because it is over run with derelicts. Not homeless! Derelicts! If they were just homeless, businesses would not need to surround their businesses with bars.

The criminal activity on Central is, well, criminal!

More to come.

2. Promoting bike riding on highways. What the fuck? Are you kidding me? Who rides a bike on major highways with cars speeding past going 50 to 60 miles per hour only one to two feet away? Why do they do it? Because they have been given the stamp of approval by the Mayor and the city. They have marked the lanes for bikes. That makes it OK?

In the words of Joe Biden "C'mon man."

The bike riders think because they have been given their own little lane to ride in, a car or truck whizzing past is going to yield to them, even though they missed them by inches, no matter, they are right because they are in their lane.

Fuck that! Tell it to the dead bikers that litter the roads in New Mexico. Between the drunks and the texters, the odds are the next dead biker will be somebody you know. I knew one. Nice guy. Successful in business, nice house, nice family and he's dead. Hit by a drunk driver and that stupid little helmet didn't do a thing to protect his not so smart brain.

Good for you Mayor Keller. Me thinks you have stock in a ghost bike manufacturing company. More to come.

What's going on with the cannabis business in New Mexico?

The state is trying to be a partner in the new and emerging cannabis business and they are destroying it in the process. Outrageous taxes and penalties along with a complete market saturation of cannabis dispensaries are going to push these businesses over the cliff. Most of these businesses are financed by families who saw an opportunity for an investment in their future and New Mexico saw it as a cash cow for revenue.
New Mexico Taxation and Revenue Department is not interested in the prospect of people getting high. They are interested in "Hang 'em High" with taxes approaching 40% of gross sales.

Do the consumers realize that along with the sales tax they are paying, the business owner is being gigged a 12% excise tax? Do people even know what an excise tax is? Probably not. But that that is being passed on to you. Does anybody care?

I CAN'T HEAR YOU! New Mexico. I CAN'T HEAR YOU!

Other states should be watching and learning.
I'll have more to say about this.
