Cleveland Browns! What are you doing?

Cleveland Browns. What in the world are we gonna do with you? You are like the red headed step child in a family of Italians. While your cousins Pittsburgh, Buffalo, Detroit and Cincinnati, somehow to seem to do from good to great, you just cannot get it done.

Look, it is not the players. It never has been the players. It is ownership, management and the COACHES! COACHES! GET IT!

I feel sorry for the fans there. I threw my Cleveland fan wear jerseys away 10 years ago. Who wants to go to a show where you know the outcome every time? Poor Cleveland. Think of it Mike Tomlin. 17 years in Pittsburgh and never a losing season. They are 100 miles away!

Why couldn't Cleveland hire Bill Cowher or Dan Campbell, or wait a minute they hired Bill Belichick and fired him and them he won 6 super bowls. The browns moved to Baltimore, changed their name to the Ravens and won 2 super bowls. Sixty years, 1964, that's sixty years! The 1980's were at least exciting. Now? Forget it.

I don't know what the answer is for Cleveland, but I have a clue.

In my years in business, I have found that rarely is it the employees where the problems lie. I can say with 99% accuracy the problem is owners and management. They acquire the players from the same talent pool as all other NFL teams. However, when it comes to choosing talent, they are not just bad they are horrible. The real talent problem is at the top of the organization and that includes coaching, general manager, and owners.

Here is some advise for Cleveland management. Quit trying to be the stars. You are not. Leave that to the players. Be humble and go to a team who has done it right and ask them how they did it. Would you like to bet, if you watch and listen, you may learn something. And hire some real coaches. Not retreads, or let me try it again, I will get it right this time coaches who are on their 2nd or 3rd go 'round. And when they stink, then hey, they stink. Throw them out. Because every losing season now is a slap in the face to the people who are spending their hard earned entertainment dollars to support you ridiculous overpaid asses.

And they want a new stadium? Are you kidding me? You've got to be kidding me. You're not kidding me? Sure, Buffalo is getting a new 1.7 billion dollar stadium set to open in 2026. But here is the caveat, THEY WIN! Something Cleveland just can't find the handle on. They have only had four wining seasons since returning to the NFL. And with the Detroit Lions, they were the only 2 teams to go 0-16 in the history of the NFL. But we all know what Detroit has done. Someone needs to drive up to Detroit, or better yet crawl up on your hands and knees and ask them, "How'd you guys do that?"

I'm thinkin' you should've let Baltimore have the Browns name and started totally fresh with a new name and colors. Would I be a Browns fan again? Probably not, but it's not about me.

Good luck Cleveland fans,

Jack Wilson
